Struggling Chelsea ace could be set for winter loan move to Barcelona

Alvaro Morata could be off to Barcelona in the winter window, according to the Mirror. The Chelsea striker has struggled to perform since joining 18 months ago and the report claims that his team has spoken to the Catalans.

The report adds that Barcelona want a backup for Luis Suarez, who is undergoing stem cell treatment. Barcelona sold Paco Alcacer to Borussia Dortmund and Munir hasn’t been great in the attack.

Morata has failed to become a regular starter under Maurizio Sarri with the Italian even played Eden Hazard as the striker against Manchester City last weekend.

The report adds that Morata is searching for regular football and the move to Barcelona would be a loan deal with a view to making it permanent in the summer.

It will be interesting to see if we do end Morata’s nightmare at Chelsea and let him return home. Should we allow the deal in the January window, we would be thin of strikers ourselves with only Olivier Giroud as the senior recognized striker. Michy Batshuayi has also struggled for goals while on loan at Valencia.

Morata has tried his level best to make things work at the Blues, and hopefully, the right deal will take place once the winter window opens.
