Anthony Martial

Chelsea are interested in Manchester United striker Anthony Martial and the Red Devils are bracing themselves in the January window, according to Sky Sports.

Martial hasn’t extended his deal at the Red Devils and the report adds that United recently activated a clause that keeps the Frenchman at Old Trafford till 2020, after the Frenchman rejected the latest offer from the club.

The report adds that Chelsea want to sign the 22-year-old but only if we sell someone in the winter window.

Martial has been in great form recently and scored in the 3-1 derby loss to Manchester City. The former Monaco star has six Premier League goals from just seven starts in the league and seems to be the one United attacker that has hit form.

Juventus are also keeping a close eye on the 22-year-old, as per the report, but United want to keep the player and talks have been going regarding a new deal since the summer.

The report claims that United want to keep hold of their star as they fear he could fulfil his potential at another club.

Chelsea have conducted business with United before as we sold Nemanja Matic and Juan Mata to the Red Devils.

However, it will be interesting to see if United would sell their youngster to the Blues. Chelsea would have to part with a huge sum to sign Martial, but the Frenchman would be an excellent signing under Maurizio Sarri’s tenure.
