The Sun (h/t Daily Star) claims that Chelsea have to pay £35m to sign the Serie A’s rising star Krzysztof Piatek.

The report claims that Chelsea are in the market for a striker. Alvaro Morata has struggled to perform consistently for the Blues while Olivier Giroud hasn’t scored this season.

Maurizio Sarri’s side is unbeaten in all competitions but Chelsea are interested in the Polish striker from Genoa.

Piatek has scored 17 times for the Serie A side and even has four international goals to his name. The 23-year-old has attracted some of the biggest clubs in the world with Tottenham, Borussia Dortmund and even Barcelona interested, as per the report.

Piatek’s agent Szymon Pacanowski claimed the Pole is happy at the Serie A club and any deal would have to wait till the summer.

The agent was quoted by the Daily Star as saying:

“Many clubs have contacted us over the last few weeks.

“His value has certainly risen over the three months in Serie A, but right now we are happy to remain at Genoa.”

Piatek is hot property and it is interesting to see that we are linked with the Pole. Sarri knows the Serie A quite well, and if anyone can get a quality player from the league, it has to be the Italian.

The 23-year-old could add a few more millions to his name if he keeps scoring. We will have to wait and watch how he does for the remainder of the season and if any new interested parties emerge.
