“I do not know anything” Chelsea target refuses to confirm exit from current club despite rumours

Elseid Hysaj

Chelsea target Elseid Hysaj has rejected any rumours of him leaving the Serie A club this season after manager Maurizio Sarri left the side.

The 24-year-old Albanian was speaking to Calciomercato (h/t Football.London) and added that the signing of Carlo Ancelotti as the manager of Napoli was a “good choice” before going on to say that he knows nothing about any rumours linking him away from the Stadio San Paolo.

“The farewell of Sarri is not good news given that I’ve been with the coach for 6 years.

“But Napoli have made a good choice with Ancelotti who is an excellent coach and we know how many titles he won.

“Future? They are just rumours, I do not know anything and I only read what is written.”

The 24-year-old right-back played 35 games in the league and also played in all six group games for the Serie A side that took Juventus right to the limit in the race for the Scudetto.

Despite interest from Chelsea, it does seem that Hysaj will look at what Ancelotti does at the club before making a decision on the future.

What is a little surprising about this rumour is the fact that we have Davide Zappacosta and Victor Moses who can play down the right. However, both players have been used as wing-backs while Hysaj is a more traditional right-back and he could be someone who we can use next season.

Of course, there is still a doubt on who our next manager could be as that will decide our transfer policy ahead of the upcoming season.

Sarri was linked with a move to the Blues, however, the steam regarding that move seems to have fizzled out for now as we look at other options that can get us back into the Champions League places next season.
