Shock 3-0 defeat at Newcastle leaves Chelsea fans fuming on Twitter

Chelsea’s hopes of finishing 4th in the Premier League and making it into the Champions League came unstuck as they were rightly beaten by a better Newcastle United side.

The Blues knew they had to win and hope for a Liverpool loss against Brighton. However, the Reds did their bit with a 4-0 win over the Seagulls while our wheels came off the wagon at St. James’ Park.

We were never really in the game and Antonio Conte would be a little worried given that we play in the FA Cup final soon. A repeat performance like this would certainly mean that we win nothing this season.

Newcastle ended up scoring three goals, thanks to Dwight Gayle and a brace from Ayoze Perez but it could have been more had it not been for Thibaut Courtois.

Not many would have imagined us finishing outside the top-four after winning the Premier League title last season but this season has been one calamity after another and now we must prepare for the Europa League when the next season starts.

Twitter was not the best place to be for Chelsea supporters and here’s how the fans reacted to the loss.
