Predicted Chelsea Lineup To Face West Bromwich Albion In The Premier League

Chelsea will look to bounce back from back-to-back demoralising defeats when they host West Bromwich Albion on Monday. Antonio Conte is under immense pressure after losing to Bournemouth and Watford in the Premier League. The Italian has to alter his tactics in order to find a way out of the rut they currently are in.

West Brom, meanwhile find themselves at rock bottom of the table and even a win on Monday won’t take them out of the relegation zone. So it’s a game of David vs Goliath but given Chelsea’s disappointing recent form, everything is a possibility on Monday.

Team News

Alvaro Morata remains out injured with a back problem and Conte remains concerned over the player’s lengthy absence through injury. Morata’s Spanish teammate Pedro is fit though, having limped off at Vicarage Road earlier this week. Defender Andreas Christensen has a good chance to make it to the squad having trained with the first-team today.

Meanwhile, Tiemoue Bakayoko was sent off at Watford and having being yellow carded twice, the 23-year-old will miss the game against the Baggies.

Probable Chelsea XI

Formation: 3-4-3

Manager: Antonio Conte

Thibaut Courtois (GK)

An undisputed starter on Monday against Alan Pardew’s men.

Cesar Azpilicueta (RCB)

Azpilicueta will need to step up if his fellow defenders flounder on Monday. The Spaniard is an experienced player and it will come into picture during tense moments.

Gary Cahill (CB)

The leader of our team, Gary Cahill hasn’t been at his best this season. Yet, he would start with a hope to turn things around.

David Luiz (LCB)

It is very tough to come from an injury and start excelling at a high level. Luiz showed his rustiness at Watford and the hosts punished. The Brazilian, nevertheless, is a peripheral figure and needs to start showing his worth to Conte.

Victor Moses (RWB)

Moses is a key player for our team and his performances could be vital to the club’s revival and Conte’s survival.

Marcos Alonso (LWB)

Alonso missed Monday night’s defeat to Watford due to fatigue but could make a return against the Baggies.

N’Golo Kante (CM)

Kante has been utterly underwhelming this season which has had a direct impact on the team’s performances. The diminutive midfielder will hope to return to form sooner than later and help us arrest their mini-crisis.

Danny Drinkwater (CM)

Drinkwater could start alongside his former Leicester partner, Kante. The duo created havoc as the Foxes surged to a fairytale Premier League title in 2015-16.

Eden Hazard (LW)

Hazard scored a wonder goal against Watford but it became a mere consolation as the hosts scored three times inside seven minutes to win 4-1. The Belgian is expected to start on the left on Monday and Conte would hope for something better from his most creative player.

Willian (RW)

It baffles at times to see Willian not play week in and week out. The winger has everything in his locker to unlock any defence. The only thing he lacks is Conte’s faith.

Olivier Giroud (ST)

Giroud failed to make a mark on his Chelsea debut at Vicarage road. It was understandable, given the entire team ran out of steam playing with 10 men. Conte will have high expectations from the former Arsenal man when we host West Brom.
