Breaking! Conte Conte Reveals His Further Tranafer Plans, Swiss Duo On Radar

Stephan Lichtsteiner

Chelsea have brought in two new players in the squad so far into the summer and while the Blues manager Antonio Conte looks to add reinforcements to his squad, reports from Swiss outlet Blick state that the Blues manager can be looking out to add more to his defence in the form of Ricardo Rodriguez and Stephan Lichtsteiner.

Rodriguez has been linked with a move out of Wolfsburg in the last few days and as such it is believed that the player will cost between £12.9m to £15.5m.

On the other hand, Lichtsteiner’s future at Juventus is cast to uncertainty following the arrival of Brazilian star Dani Alves, whose arrival at the Old Lady is sure to put Lichtsteiner’s further below in the pecking order. Blick add the Swiss could be available for £8.6m and he could be a viable option having worked under Conte at Juventus previously.

After Chelsea’s 2-1 win at Watford their boss made it clear he wanted to strengthen his defensive options.

He said: “If you look now at our squad, we have only five defenders – four that started today and an academy player Ola Aina.

“Ola is very good – he has great potential – but with any young player you must work to put them in the first team. Sure, he has a good future.

“If one defender is injured or banned, then we are in trouble, but the club and me we know this and we are talking every day to improve the squad.

“We know that this market is very difficult. It’s crazy. I don’t want to buy only to buy.

“I want to buy the right profile for Chelsea, the right investment for the solution and for the future.”
