Chelsea are looking to sign Sporting Lisbon midfielder Joao Mario, according to the reports from the Sun. According to the same reports Chelsea are plotting a £46m move for the Portugal international.

Chelsea have been looking out for the player since he managed to impress everyone with his excellent displays during the European Championship 2016 for Portugal.

And if reports are to be believed then Chelsea are increasing their efforts to sign the 23 year old midfielder as the Blues need a back up to face competition from Manchester United if the Red Devils succeed in signing Paul Pogba this summer.

The Blues have already signed Michy Batshuayi and N’Golo Kante into the squad this summer and there are more players with the likes of Romelu Lukaku linked with a move to the Stamford Bridge this summer as the Blues manager has stated that he will need to sign further more players into the squad.
