With several flop strikers and Diego Costa’s future uncertain the new Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has quite a job on his hands. However the Italian is calm and seems to be moving in the right direction with their striker situation.
According to the Telegraph, the Blues have opened talks with Alvaro Morata from Juventus. Initially the club was interested in Jamie Vardy, but after it was revealed that Vardy is set for a medical at Arsenal, the Blues have focused their attention to Morata and has acted quickly.
Deal for Morata is a bit more complicated as Real Madrid has a buyback clause and the Spanish giants are keen to activate his £23 million clause before selling him for a profit to another club. Real values the player at £40 million and Chelsea would like to get a bargain on that price tag. Morata is currently with the Spain squad at Euro 2016 as they open their game against the Czech Republic on Monday.
