These Are The Positions Antonio Conte Should Try And Upgrade In The Summer

With the new season approaching, Chelsea need to do a lot of work before playing in the new campaign. A new manager guarantees a host of changes at the club from the coaching staff to the players and what will Conte bring along with him?

Antonio Conte is has been officially named the Blues manager yesterday and the Italian will take over the club immediately after the EUROS. Since then, rumours have already started about the players that will be signed this summer.

There are a lot of positions that needs to be strengthened after the horrendous season and there needs to be a major overhaul at the club. Antonio Conte seems to be the perfect man to bring the lost glory and make Chelsea a force again next season. So let’s take a look at the positions that need to be added some steel ahead of Conte’s reign:

1. Right back:

Branislav Ivanovic has been a great servant to the club and has been brilliant since he arrived from Lokomotiv Moscow. But sadly, he is looking more and more jaded after each passing game and it is time to move on from the Serb. There are a lot of good options available and Conte will surely bring a fullback in the summer.

2. Centre Back:

With the Club reluctant to offer a new contract to the Legend, John Terry, Chelsea must find an able replacement to fill the gap that will be left by Terry. The Club will have to shell out a lot of cash if they want to bring in a world class defender. But if the captain leaves, this should be the no.1 priority.

3. Centre Midfield:

With the departure of Ramires to China, Chelsea’s midfield has looked a bit weak this season. Fabregas, Matic and Mikel have looked vulnerable this season and this is the area where enforcements are needed if the blues want to challenge for the trophies next term. Miralem Pjanic, Radja Nainggolan and Paul Pogba are all rumoured to join and buying atleast one of them will do a world of favour for the blues.

4. Striker:

Loic Remy and Radamel Falcao are definitely going to leave Stamford Bridge with Costa being the sole striker left. Big names are available and Conte will definitely add a striker and the team demands a good goalscorer to reduce some load off Diego Costa.
