Jose Gimenez is wanted by Chelsea and Manchester City as per reports from Marca. The 21 year old player who is currently with Atletico Madrid also reported to have generated interest from Real Madrid and Barcelona.
The player has a release clause of £51.6 million and the Spanish giants are apparently ready to match that. The Uruguayan center back is a key player in Diego Simeone’s side and given what Atletico has been doing good in recent times, it is no surprise that plethora of clubs want him. He has made 32 appearances so far.
Blues have been interested in him since last summer but now Manchester City may make things more complicated. As Chelsea undergoes an overhaul in the summer the same is expected to be happening with Manchester City as Pep Guardiola arrives at Etihad. Many players may be shuffled and it will not be surprising if we see several tug-of-war scenario with a few players.
