Why Chelsea Are Wrong In Going After This PSG Superstar, And Have To Give Another Chance For This Youngster

Summer transfer window provides a perfect opportunity for Chelsea to sign some exciting talent from around the globe and deliver a tough challenge at the top again. The first step taken by appointing Antonio Conte is a perfect measure to correct the mistakes of this horrendous season. The next step will be to offload fringe players and bring in right blend of players as per the new manager’s needs.

The name that has come up in recent times to leave Stamford Bridge in summer is the Brazilian playmaker Oscar. He hasn’t been at his usual best this season but still has eight goals and four assists to his name in this below par season for the blues. This can be considered a rather decent comparing to the unprecedented loss of form of Eden Hazard who literally won the league for Chelsea last campaign.

It is being speculated that Juventus are very much interested in securing the services of Oscar and are looking to sign him as soon as possible. Juan Cuadrado is wanted by Conte and will look to prove himself in the league if he arrives. The man rumoured to replace him is PSG’s Javier Pastore. Pastore has been previously linked with the Club but it was a mere speculation.

The Argentine is a delightful no.10 player who can single-handedly destroy a team. His vision is exemplary and just like his idol Kaka can shoot well. The one problem with him is his inconsistency. He can go very much out if the form for a long run of matches and sometimes just switch off in games.

Replacing Oscar with him is just not an upgrade and if Oscar does leave, a big name should be brought rather than the mMan who was once likened to the great Ronaldinho but failed to live up to the expectations. Pastore is no doubt a good player but is not the one that the blues need right now.

Oscar has age by his side and his type of players are very rare in the modern game. His best years are yet to come and it should be at Chelsea, and the blues should learn from the mistakes of Romelu Lukaku and Kevin De Bruyne. He can become a real utility player under Conte and has much to offer to the team. The Brazilian can become an asset to this Chelsea team, with Conte’s vision and Oscar’s talent, Chelsea could rise to the top again.
