Chelsea Player Ratings vs Norwich

Chelsea earned a hard-fought victory over Norwich City at Carrow Road. Kennedy and Diego Costa were on the scoresheet while Nathan Redmond scored a consolation for the hosts.
Take a look at the player ratings from yesterday’s game.

Eden Hazard

Thibaut Courtois: 6
The Belgian was very lucky not to concede an indirect free kick after handling Cahill’s backpass. Otherwise had a quiet night and dealt with crosses comfortably.

Cesar Azpilicueta: 6.5
The Spaniard had a consistent game in both attacking and defensive aspects. Need to find a way to stop crosses coming from his side.

Gary Cahill: 6.5
Looks reliable at the back but is stronger with the pairing of John Terry.

Branislav Ivanovic: 6
On his 350th appearance, the Serbian looked confident on the ball but was disappointing for Redmond’s goal.

Kennedy: 6.5
He took his chance with both hands and scored the fastest goal of this season in 41 seconds. But the youngster was defensively very poor.

Nemanja Matic: 6
Showed real steel in the midfield and broke many of Norwich’s plays. Lacked pace at times.

Cesc Fabregas: 5.5
Kept the play ticking but his off the ball movement needs to be improved. Unnecessary booking later on in the game.

Bertrand Traore: 7
Was a constant menace for the Canaries defence and also provides an assist.

Oscar: 5.5
Link-up was good at times but lacked the creativity that was expected from the Brazilian.

Eden Hazard: 7.5
Passing was exemplary in the first half and some of his plays reminded the Hazard of last season. Faded in the second half.

Diego Costa: 6.5
Scored his 14th goal of the season albeit from an offside position. He was ineffective for most of the times.

Subs :

John Obi Mikel: 5.5
Did the basics well but Chelsea soon conceded after his arrival.

Willian: 5
Played for half an hour but wasn’t as influential as usual. Showed good work rate.

Baba Rehman: 6
Made a strong statement after his mistake in the last game. He was solid in defense.

Man of the Match: Eden Hazard.
