We reported yesterday that Blues were surprisingly interested in New York Red Bulls defender Matt Miazga. Now Daily Star has reported that the 20-year-old American player has flown to London to complete his medical.

The transfer is going to cost the West London team £3.5 million. It’s been reported that the other clubs like Manchester United, Liverpool, Manchester City, and Arsenal were also interested in the player but it looks like Chelsea has bagged the player.

This is going to be the second signing for Guss Hiddink in this stint. Though it has been a little late, the Blues have completed the medical of Alexandre Pato and now Guus Hiddink has confirmed the medical of Miazga. The transfer of Pato was expected to be completed today but Corinthians are said to be haggling over a few fee-related details on the player’s transfer. Pato’s arrival will provide Chelsea with some much-needed firepower.
