3. Andreas Christensen – Borussia Monchengladbach
The youngster has already represented Denmark at senior level, and plays at centre back, right back, and holding midfield. The 6ft 2in defender comes from the home club of Daniel Agger, and will certainly be looking to follow in the same footsteps as his idol.
It cannot have been easy to come into a side that had four straight defeats to start the season with, but Christensen has since helped provide the platform for Gladbach to claw their way off the bottom of the table with nine wins and 2 draws to climb to a 4th place in the league standing under interim coach Andre Schubert. Classy and calm beyond his years, the centre-back, who is on a two-year loan from Chelsea, has perfectly filled the gap opened by Martin Stranzl’s injury. And having impressed in all the games he has played in a Die Borussen jersey and with Gary Cahill, Kurt Zouma and John Terry clearly not at their best and this youngster doing wonders at Germany, he is sure to have caught the attention of the people of Stamford Bridge.
