It seems now that Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is next in line to be sacked after picking up just eight points from his first eight matches. The Latest reports suggest that The Blues’ hierarchy are further considering Atletico Madrid’s Diego Simeone as a potential replacement for the Portuguese manager, as per reports. The former Real Madrid manager has been under a lot of pressure and is the favourite to be the next Premier League manager who could be sacked, after a really poor start to the season.
The west London side had stated last week that Mourinho was safe for now, but results must improve for him to stay at Stamford Bridge. The reports also claim that Jose is aware that the club are keeping a backup plan if he fails to turn things around.
Simeone is at present their top target though he signed a new contract in March and would cost the English giants to pay out his £15m buy-out clause to take him away from the Vicente Calderon this summer.
Well, what happens next remains to be seen, as it might end up being quite an interesting season for the Londoners after all.
