Cardiff vs Chelsea: THREE Key Battles That Will Shape The Result In Premier League Finale

Chelsea and Cardiff will finish their Premier League campaign this afternoon in a tie in the south of Wales. Here are three key battles that will likely shape the result of the tie.

1) Ba vs Caulker

Ba is a strong player who will look to get the ball to feet, but Caulker is a remarkable talent and I think he will get the better of the Chelsea forward.

This season the 22-year-old centre-half has averaged 8.7 clearances per game this season and has won 142/240 of his aerial battles.

Ba has come up with a couple of important goals in the past couple of weeks, and Mourinho will be counting on him to pull his weight once again.

2) Matic vs Wittingham

Matic is one of the most composed central midfielders in the Premier League and will be a major problem for whoever goes up against him. The way he strangles opponents and squeezes them off the ball is brilliant to watch from a Chelsea perspective.

Whittingham has been tucked into a central position this season but he does not possess the physical presence nor the athleticism to get the better of Matic, in my mind.

3) Mutch vs Kalas

Mutch has been the Bluedbirds’ standout player for me and his darting runs forward will undoubtedly see him come up against young centre-half Kalas, who impressed against Liverpool last time out.

Can he stand up to the challenge?
