Why Chelsea Should Look To Sign La Liga Striker With 18 Goals In 19 Games

A lot has been said about Chelsea’s strikers this season. Between them, Fernando Torres, Samuel Eto’o and Demba Ba have scored just four goals all season while Romelu Lukaku is enjoying his loan spell at Everton, scoring eight goals in 10 league starts. But which forward should the Blues be looking at during the January transfer window?

Radamel Falcao seems to be the name that most people are throwing forward and with good reason. The Colombian  has lit up the European stage over the last few years with Porto, Atletico Madrid and now Monaco, scoring 72 in the two seasons with the former, 70 in two seasons with Atletico and nine in 13 games for Monaco.

However, I think this man is more suited to the west London club. Diego Costa has been in scintillating form this season, scoring 18 goals in his 19 outings so far.

He has the power, he has the movement but it’s the way he links up with the players around him why I feel he is the perfect fit for the Stamford Bridge outfit. He’s happy to play outside his comfort zone, drifting into the holes between the lines and using his technique to bring others into play.

He’s strong in the air, has a powerful frame and for me is the player that could drag Chelsea to the top of the table.
