The Standard say that Balotelli’s agent is making claims that Blues boss Jose Mourinho is interested in signing the forward, but should he be drafted into the Bridge, could it ultimately cost the west London club their shot at the Premier League title this season?
With Fernando Torres and Demba Ba their options up top, as well as an aging Samuel Eto’o, Chelsea aren’t exactly blessed with forward options. But while the Torres and Eto’olook as if they are improving, inviting a striker who is known for his behaviour rather than his ability could be a potential spanner in the works.
Balotelli is a fine player when he wants to be, but ‘when he wants to be’ is the key phrase. He is often found sulking around the pitch, thumping the floor or muttering obscenities to himself, and that is the last thing Chelsea need right now.
His form has been strong in Milan since his return, scoring 12 goals in 13 games last season and five in 10 this, but would his arrival ruffle a few feathers in the Chelsea dressing room?
Blues, would you have him in your side?
