Gunners take on the Blues: The Odds

Chelsea travel to the Emirates to take on Arsenal this weekend, and are 3.75 chances with Betfred and Paddy Power to bag all three points and maintain their excellent run of form.

The Blues did brilliantly to beat Barcelona 1-0 on Wednesday, and the only worry is that the game will have left it’s mark fatigue wise.

It could well be the case that with the Champions League now clearly the focus that Roberto Di Matteo decides to rest several key players for this.

The one player that fans will want to see on the scoresheet if Chelsea are to beat the Gunners is undoubtedly Didier Drogba.

He has been an absolute nightmare for Arsene Wenger’s side since arriving at the club in 2004.

The Ivorian has scored 13 goals in 14 games against them, so whether he plays is very much likely to influence the outcome of this clash.

If he does get into the starting line-up then the 7 with Boylesports and Betfred would be tremendous value, as would the 3 with Paddy Power for him to net anytime.

In his absence, I would have a small punt on Lampard to score during the 90 minutes at 3.6 with Paddy Power.

As far as the stats are concerned, Chelsea look to have an uphill struggle.

The Blues have won just three of their previous 19 Premier League trips to the home of Arsenal, but those three victories have all come in their last six visits so their is some cause for optimism.

However they have also lost 29 points from winning positions against Arsenal in the Premier League, so they will clearly have to be tight defensively and on the top of the game in all departments if they are to triumph.

Overall I think that the bookies may have underestimated their chances based their exploits in the Champions League and there is not as much between the two sides as the odds suggest.

I fancy Chelsea to cause a bit of an upset and win what promises to be a terrific game 2-1.

That scoreline is a 12 chance with bet365 and Betfred.
