What we learnt from the San Siro

Last night we saw Arsenal get hammered by AC Milan, the Italians absolutely destroyed our EPL rivals.

When we take on Napoli we must be sure not to suffer the same pain, there is no doubt it was the Gooners’ worst ever performance in Europe and it was largely down to weak defending.

Saturday’s display at Goodison was very poor, the team lacked direction and Andre Villas-Boas failed to make the needed changes – instead he controversially took off Michael Essien and Juan Mata.

During that defeat it was the first real sign of the fans losing patience with the Portuguese tactician – his choice of substitution led to the chants of: “You don’t know what you’re doing.”

And then after the second goal went in, the Blues fans started to sing: “Sacked in the morning” which the Everton fans then continued.

With new signing Cahill on the bench and no JT the defence lacked cohesion, when we come up against Napoli’s attacking talent of Cavani, Lavezzi and Hamsik everyone has to be at their best or we could face similar embarrassment that Arsenal suffered last night.
