Cech and Sturrudge going nowhere

Chelsea have said that Petr Cech and Daniel Sturridge are staying at the club and are in AVB’s plans.

There have been lots of rumours that both players could leave, in particular Daniel Sturridge who has become frustrated at playing on the wing rather than his preferred central role.

But, this has now been denied and the player is eagerly awaiting a new contract and hoping to play as much as possible and win a place in the Euro 2012 squad.

As for Cech, he’s received criticism this year for his performances and his lack of clean sheets – this has led to talk of Thibaut Courtois returning to the club and the possibility of making a move for Russian Igor Akinfeev.
