Is it time to cut our losses with Fernando Torres? There is no doubt he is a class player, and his scoring touch will come back but is it time to sell.
New PSG coach, who we know vey well is Carlo Ancelotti – he won his place in Chelsea fan’s hearts after leading the club to a league and cup double but he has come out and said he has been offered Torres.
Whilst we do not know if this is true, you have to ask if it would be a good time to sell … he has only scored four times in 25 appearances, two of which were against Genk, one was in the 3-1 loss to United and the other was the opener against Swansea before he got sent off.
Whilst there is no way the Blues would get back anything near the £50m the club paid for him, but they would probably get around £20m and more importantly he would be off the wages.
If he was sold, it would need to be abroad, if he was sold to another Premier League club he would probably find his scoring boots immediately – and come back to haunt the Blues.
He’s currently proven to be a huge waste of money, can he turn things around and start scoring again?
With the new financial rules coming into play in the near future questions need to be answered – which big earners should go?
