It is expected the Petr Cech will sign a new contract extension, which will put an end to speculation concerning his future at Stamford Bridge.
Cech, 29, has been a rock for the Blues since signing from French side Rennes for £7 million back in 2004 – He has made an impressive 240 Premier League appearances for the club.
Their had been talk that Andre Villas-Boas was considering selling Cech, and bringing summer signing Thibaut Courtois back from Atletico Madrid.
The star stopper told the London Evening Standard: “Yes, I think [I will sign a new deal] and we will not have a problem, there are a lot of matches at this time of year so we agreed [before Christmas] that both sides would prepare for the negotiations and meet to resolve it when there is time for that.
This is excellent news for the Blues, Cech has saved the club many times over the years and was a key figure in winning the three Premier League titles since he has joined.
