Kezman Reflects

Having looked back at his career Serbian striker Mateja Kezman has admitted that the best period he had in his career was when he was playing for Chelsea.

His revelations come despite the fact that he failed to make a major impact and was often second choice to Didier Drogba. The 32-year-old, now plays his in Belarus for BATE Borisov and said that he did not regret leaving when he did or anything else in his football playing career.

Kezman, is currently with his 12th club, during his time at Chelsea during the 2004-05 campaign he only scored four goals in 25 goals after his move from PSV Eindhoven.

The Serbian told Sportske:

“Chelsea was the best thing in my career. That was the climax of my career, for sure.

“Living and playing in London was something that I will never forget.

“I don’t know if I made a mistake because I moved away so quickly. Maybe I do and maybe I don’t regret it, but I always believe in my decisions.

“But the transfer to Chelsea made my dreams come true. That was the best thing that ever happened to me.

“Maybe I could achieve more and I could have been more successful at Stamford Bridge, but I don’t regret anything.”

When he was at the Bridge, he always looked like he was giving 100% and maybe had he stayed and fought for his place then he might have had a better scoring record in his second season. Either way, it is good to see players looking back favourably on their time with the club.
