Andre Villas-Boas has confirmed that Josh McEachran will be allowed to go out on loan in January to get first-team experience.
One club know to be keen to make the most of this is Swansea whose boss Brendan Rodgers is likely to use his connections at the club to sign the highly rated midfield player.
McEachran is expected to become a first-team regular but if he does, then he will be the club’s first academy played since John Terry, who debuted 13 years ago.
When reflecting on first team football, McEachran told the media earlier this year: “I just want to get more minutes this year, whether it’s out or loan or not.
”Obviously I’d love those to be at Chelsea. It’s not really up to me, but it’s up to Andre. If he thinks I’m ready to play for Chelsea, I’ll stay. If he thinks I need to go out on loan, I’ll do that.”
There is no doubt that the youngster will become a first-team regular but he needs to be playing and now is the time for him to go out on loan.
