Champions League – meeting an old friend …

Published by

The Champions League draw is out, and Chelsea are placed in Group E along with Valencia, Bayer Leverkusen and Genk.
While Chelsea are expected to go through comfortably, this group is not as easy as it appears. Bayer Leverkusen finished second in the Bundesliga last season, which speaks volumes. Then there is Valencia who can be a threat to any side. And let us not underestimate Genk, who are the Belgian Champions, making them not an easy opponent.
So, where does the key lie?
According to me, our three home games will be vital, winning away against Leverkusen and Valencia will be very difficult – The earlier we reach the 10 point mark, the better.
Return of the Kaiser!
Michael Ballack will get his richly deserved welcome from Chelsea fans when he visits Stamford Bridge with his Leverkusen side on the 13th of September.
Mata hoped he would meet Valencia in the Champions League final, well, he’ll have to made do with the group stages for now.
