Napoli vs Chelsea – The business end gets started
Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at 12:10 PM ">Two Left Feet - Out Now! for the thinking football fan The big question is whether JT will play, AVB is desperate to have his captain back and is going to leave it to the last minute before deciding whether the former England skipper plays.
Ashley Cole is fit and should start, and it’s expected that Didier Drogba will start in place of the Fernando Torres – the Spaniard is still struggling and even failed to score against Championship side Birmingham at the weekend.
As for Napoli, their big news is that head coach Walter Mazzarri who is serving a two-match touchline ban.
Men to watch
The Southern Italians have a wealth of attacking talent, something that is likely to worry AVB especially with the way the blues’ defence has been playing – They are deadly on the counter attack.
Edison Cavani is one of Europe’s most sought after strikers, he’s incredibly strong, very fast and deadly in front of goal.
So far this season he’s scored 16 goals in 18 games including two against Fiorentina and found the back of the net in both games against Manchester City.
Ezequiel Lavezzi pulls the strings; whilst he doesn’t score as many as Cavani he still has a record of 34 league goals in 144 starts. His key attributes are his pace, ball control and eye for the right pass.
Paolo Cannavaro is the main man at the back, he’s World Cup winning captain Fabio’s younger brother.
Paolo is in his second stint at his home town club an is the team’s captain, he was signed in 2006 when Napoli were in Serie B.
Betting
With Chelsea’s poor form the team are 11/5 to win, whilst the home side are 11/8 – With the intense atmosphere in Italy it could be a really hard game tonight.
As expected Cavani is favourite to score at 4s and Drogba is 13/2 and is 23/10 to make a scoring return at anytime during the game.
